Nerdland’s Discord now hands out merit badges
Members earn badges for geek-culture quests, and a bot stitches them onto a sash on command.
By Yannic Fréson, DeveloperFiled from Belgium
For this project I collaborated with Thomas Loriers to create a way for users to earn badges by completing nerd- and geek-culture-related tasks.
Thomas designed and produced all graphic elements while I wrote the backend and Discord integration. We worked together on designing the merit system, as well as the ideas and requirements for the badges.
The command shown here showcases my personal sash: a composited image of all individual badges and sash elements that forms the completed sash.
In short
Bot for the Nerdland Discord server which introduces a merit-badges system to the server.
