New cyclist, tired of juggling apps, builds his own
Pedal pulls rides, weight and progress into one hub, with ride badges from bronze to platinum.
By Yannic Fréson, Full-stack developer / DesignerFiled from Belgium

In April 2021 I started cycling, and quickly realized that I wanted a way to track my rides, my weight and my progress. There wasn’t any app out there that could do all those things at once, so I decided to make one myself.
I started designing a few mock-ups. After a few weeks of development, I had a working prototype. I used Next.js for the app and Firestore for the database. I then started automating the import of ride data from third-party apps.
Examples of how the overview, profile and ride badges look are shown here. The ride badges also feature achievements and tiered styles ranging from bronze to platinum.
In short
The solution to using multiple apps during your workout is here, and it’s called Pedal — a hub for all your data, with a focus on cycling.
